Young carers often balance education alongside significant caring responsibilities. This session explores the impact on learning, attendance and wellbeing, and how schools and colleges can identify and support young carers, with practical strategies to help them succeed and thrive.

This online interactive session will help you to:
• Understand the experiences and challenges faced by young carers
• Recognise signs that a student may have caring responsibilities
• Explore strategies to effectively support and signpost young carers
This CPD session will be suitable for all staff working in secondary schools, including those in SLT roles, pastoral roles, teaching and non-teaching staff. It will also be suitable for staff who work across the education sector, for example, those in further and higher education, local authority, or charity roles.
